Any requirement for driver to do a daily check , to late for riot act and warnings.
The 15 min spent checking oil water and tires ETC, and signing the log booking is cheap insurance
What do you do @8ob to impress them that it is in their interest to do checks
A couple farmers I did some work for a few years ago, always wanted levels checked and machines greased at the end of the day. That way any issues you find could be dealt with that night, and you got to start the next day clean.I do keep on at them and most of them will check before using, takes no time at all to lift a bonnet and check fluids. Do struggle to get the nippers to grease a machine though, the old boys I had working for me would get through a box of 30 odd grease gun cartridges a month, they would grease a machine in the morning and again at lunchtime. The nippers dont use a box a year between them, says it all.

Unfortunately it's on a poultry farm and the staff are not employed for their mechanical sympathy or even common sense. They just jump in turn the key and it's flat out from cold. The amount of times they run out of diesel is amazing.Any requirement for driver to do a daily check , to late for riot act and warnings.

Pay them a bonus on how many tubes they go thru ?I do keep on at them and most of them will check before using, takes no time at all to lift a bonnet and check fluids. I had a crank re-welded and ground. The crank is scrap 10 thou of wear/damage and 7 thou bend in it. The repair bill is increasing rapidly.
There are some good 3 cylinder Kubota engines in the yard, I will check to see if any of them are D902's
