Folks,
I have just bought a new door skin in bare metal.I asked the manufacturer not to paint it in grey primer because I wanted to paint in in superior rust protection primers.
Having picked it up there were tiny surface rust areas, possibly present before the panel was pressed. As a result I have painted both inside and outside surfaces (and flanges) with Hammerite Kurust.
My plan now is to paint the inside surfaces with Unidox zinc rich primer (made by Witham). I bought this after it came top in a Practical Classics test. I'm then going to paint the outside surafces in U Pol zinc primer. It's actually a weld thru primer, green aerosol.
Does anyone foresee any problems with this approach? I'm not a paint man at all.
Thanks,
Paul.
