The lacquer is lifting on the wing of my 87 ae86. Its a two tone metalic black/grey. Can i sand back the old lacquer and shoot some new lacquer over the whole panel?? i have a sealey spray gun and compressor(50ltr, 3hp) First time spraying.
NO,you will cut into metallic and it will show up as light/silver speck where you cut the colour off the metal particles.is if factory paint,or respray job???
sounds like one panel has been resprayed,if it's only one panel lifting.
yep have to do the whole panel,if you take a sample (petrol flap) to paint shop they should colour match for you.
get a spec sheet of paint shop and stick to it.
you get a big viriation by differant pressures,distance from panel and speed of your passes.this is just with metallics.
