Lacquer problems

Hi all,

Need some advice, I have a bonnet with the lacquer peeling at the front, front 1/4 of the bonnet is effected.

Do I...

1. Sand and blend lacquer into the non peeling section
2. remove all lacquer and start again.

You will probably have to sand the lot to flat then reapply base and clear. If it's a solid colour you may get away with very careful sanding off all the remaining clear, scuffing the lot then reclearing.

chances are the whole bonnet will end up peeling so sand it off

id use a 180 on a da sander

As Steveo. You wont be able to apply the base coat without pickling some areas. If you are sure its confined to peeling just at the front, (previous local repair) you could flat the affected area then high build and cure before attempting any base colour.
