Laser welding helmets

Hi everyone
After a bit of research I'm close to buy a laser welding helmet instead of the cheap googles my place use.
I'm watching Optrel Panoramaxx Hybrid and Laser,Univet Mastr and Laservision FS1.
Do you think these helmets can be used without additional googles (outside of fs1)?
Anyone using It?

I can't find a user manual or other info on optrel hybrid,so the laser protection is a standalone filter inside the helmet? Do you know if there's space for slim respirator mask?

The hybrid filter is mounted the same as the normal Panoramaxx filter (various options available) but has an additional rubber part inside the mask that acts as goggles to prevent any reflecting laser entering from around/behind the helmet.

You can get a papr e3000x version or use it with the swissair.
It's pretty close fitting so you might struggle to get a filter-on-mask type respirator underneath but it's much the same as a regular Panoramaxx in that regard.

They have not officially been released in the uk yet so no English manuals available, pm me an email address and I can send a pdf manual when they come out or a scan of the printed instructions

Any feedback on the non-replaceable battery inside the Panoramaxx? Do they last at least 2-3 years?

The univet is a quality bit of kit as well.
That one is more like a traditional welding helmet. I'd suggest trying on a Panoramaxx first if you haven't worn one before.
The closeness of the filter is very different to the univet. You'll either love it or hate it so should make the choice between the 2 easy.

The battery on the Panoramaxx lasts very well. I've seen plenty of 10yr old helmets still working. If you use it regularly it's better as the solar panel powers it. If you don't use it very often then you'll have to charge it using usb and the usb port will wear out before the battery.
Battery can be replaced but you'll have to strip part of the housing away to do it. Not as simple as dropping a new button cell in!

Never tried a Panoramaxx,my goto helmet for welding is the Lincoln Electric branded Viking 3350,so not cheap but not the best on the market.
It Will be used daily in a well lit place with overhead windows, so It should last very long I hope.
Do they come with storage bag? Would be a fantastic piece to show off while I came in for work

I've just noticed you are in Italy!

In the uk (and probably worldwide) they come with a draw string bag which is branded. You can also get a back-pack
or a sports bag type holdall which is big enough to hold a welding mask, grinding mask and a papr system

Yes,but here in Italy no One have the optrel,for now the only places where the optrel Can be ordered seems the Germany,with 7-14 days for shipping.

I will probably buy the Optrel bag,found It cheap,or a bike helmet bag.Optrel bag is cooler

I don't know about Italy but I'd guess the release date is within the next month?
Not officially released in the uk yet, first ones only arrived a few weeks ago.
I've got a non-papr version but it will probably be cheaper for you to buy one locally than pay postage & duty!

Most dealers will give you a free bag if you are buying a helmet, just ask nicely!

The optrel Italy team was kind at first,then they disappeared,guess they didn't see my last email regarding italian vendors,will ask them who officially sell their helmets here.
Duty is very high,for a declared value of 150£ I've got 50£ of tax,so think about a 900£ helmet!!
