Yes, it was very fiddly but I've managed to avoid setting fire to anything so far......even myself! :-)

I sometimes use a small magnet to hold small pieces in place,its one of those telescopic ones you use to retrieve bolts etc dropped down in to engine bays n stuff.
It does get spatter on it but just give it a wire brush and your good to go.

Just showed them to the wife and she loves them she wants me to have a shot at an xmas sculpture to hang lights on in the garden.

That's a really good idea! I'll try that as it's hard to keep the little bits where they need to be sometimes :-)

I just use my finger nails and let go sharpish.
I can manage bits of 6mm bar about 8mm long with practice.
You do have to be quick but you learn quickly.
Note I am not advocating this stupid practice.

I hope you don't mind, but the wife is very taken with idea of a great big (i.e. 3ft tall) reindeer in the front garden, so I was going to use your excellent creation as a model for a larger version.
I got 6mm rod from the local dealer today (£9.80 for 24m!) and I'm going to use the old sump guard from my truck as his body.

Oh.... and solar power led lights. Nobody said it had to be tasteful
