I have been running sculpture making workshops for a while now.
This weekend I had a couple come and work with me.They had never seen a welder before or a plasma cutter.
We spent an hour or so doing simple Mig welding exercises and playing with the plasma cutter.
By mid morning on the second day they had made these.

I particularly like the heart.
I might even pinch some design pointers from it.
My input was limited to some advice on welding , securing the workpiece and keeping out of the way.
I thnk their next stage is to go off and start tooling up.

Impressive stuff! ...were they creative types anyway, or was this their first attempt at tapping into that side of things?

I'm a firm believer that everybody has the potential to do something wonderful given the right 'nudge'

She has an eye for drawing, he has neve really looked at this side of things before.
So a bit of a departure for both of them.

Broken hearts and violins, a bit of a theme going on there Good stuff.

Quite an evocative heart!! I love how the violin looks so shambolic, great stuff.

The Ghost in the window?
Mr Hendrix, years back I was playing about with the plasma cutter and tried using a print of the celebrated of Mr H as a stencil, came out okish but he looked like Phil Lynott with a fat lip.
Broken hearts and shambolic violins indeed.
We had a great weekend and all three of us got a real buzz from it.
I think they are sticking plasters on the heart.
These things make it all worth while.

not a doctor by proffesion are they wouldnt want my dressings welded on it would be more painful then the injury beneath
