I got my new TIG for Christmas and needed a project to test it it out. So I built a welding cart!!

Progress so far.

Just need to bolt the cam buckles on for the gas cylinders and its finished!

Looks tidy.
Dont do what I did on mine.
I was so clever I had Mig and Tig plumbed into the same bottle.
it took me over a year to find out what was wrong with my Tig welding.

Thanks guys. All finished now with the cylinders mounted with ratchet straps.

It's totally stable and easy to move. I put locking wheels on the front as well so when in position it won't roll around. Fits the TIG, MIG and plasma cutter perfectly.

It looks great mr. Shiney! My TA will also get one soon ;-). The other welder apart from the small kemppi already have wheels and the TA doesn't fit the car I had made for GYS 160 so instead of modifying that one I prefer to make one from scratch.
I really liked the detail of the aluminum "bus floor", it looks quite cool with the rest of metal painted blue

I believe if you are going to do a job then do it properly!! The advantage of custom building is you get exactly what you want. Despite not doing it on a budget the whole project cost me £54.

I went with aluminium to keep the weight down and create a contrast. It also meant I had more welding to do with the rails needed to support the deck which was part of the purpose of the project.

I am more impressed by the fact that it turned out totally square!!
