leader hoses for new gun.

Hi guys.

I've just bought myself an Ingersoll Rand 1/2 impact wrench and I want to use a leader/whip hose with it.
I currently use high flow Euro connectors (I think they're called) however when looking for an appropriate hose on ebay they all seem to have a fixed PCL connector on one end.

Anyone know if this is removeable or if I can buy a hose with a Euro male on it already?

Might be easier to make your own. I use type 26 euro fittings, they are expensive and not as readily available as pcl.

Somehow ive ended up using those (or t25 - im not sure) also, but its irritating, as the rest of the world seems to use PCL.

What are the advantages of said fittings against PCL? Ive been tempted to change...

i use 3 types pcl standard. larger bore cant remember the make and c couplings on half inch and 3/4 bore pipes for more air use

Thanks guys, i'll see if i can just buy some short 10mm hose with a 1/4 BSP thread on each end. My gun will be 1/4 BSP female wont it? (Not received it yet so cant check.)

I've considered changing to what seems to be the standard PCL these days but they have a very narrow I/D so why do so many people use them, surely this wouls restrict flow? my mate who works in a garage uses PCL connectors, (he even uses those to run a massive 1" impact wrench and seems to work fine.

Restriction to flow is a function of I/D AND length, the porting inside the gun is quite possibly smaller than a Euro fitting. PCL do do a high flow range if I'm not mistaken. I ended up on Euro fittings because I started off with aldi air tools as a youf and just kept to the same.
Having Euro is handy for me because:
a. Its funny watching PCL mechanics trying to de-couple the tools
b. Nobody ever wants to borrow your gear.

Yes your gun will most likely be 1/4" BSPF, assuming the anvil is not beyond 1/2".

I started with an Aldi compressor a friend gave me and all the bits (spray gun, air blower etc) that's why I have the Euro's too.

I guess they put those on to give the Aldi compressor a fighting chance.
