Have you got a powertool range with batteries?? If so just go with that brand and go cordless. Or if you have Makita then katsu do ones to fit the battery.

i used a petrol ones and there good and cheap on facebook just empty it once used to stop it gumimg up the carb

only tryed 1 battery one that was carp

used a 240 was a cheapy make but not as good as petrol was the top

I would agree with above, having used electric corded and battery, they just don't seem to have the lasting oomph just yet.
4th year of generic PRC "Parker" orange 2 stroke, I look after it, but let it rip on blow and does well

Horsey brigade are using a cordless leaf blower around the yard, lasts about half an hour of continuous per charge. This thing gets a lot of daily use, they rate it.

Agree with the above re petrol.

I bought a Mitox 280BVX blower / sucker and it's been rock solid in the 5 years I've had it. Mine was £199 delivered from FR Jones and Son. This is a random Amazon ad but hopefully you can get them for closer to £200.

Ive had a Ryobi petrol for 10yrs. It gets a lot of use as nextdoors hedge is a Hornbeam, forever dropping leaves that end up down our path. So had, had a lot of use and still going strong

What type of clearance are you going to be doing? Are you going to be blowing a relatively small, hard surface, or would you, for example, be blowing leaves from a larger grassed area?

The handheld stuff will be fine with hard/well kempt areas which aren't loaded with what you're blowing. If you have area &/volume to deal with, you want petrol. Preferably backpack, if it's going to be a sizable blow.

Mainly the driveway,which is ex council A road ,plus the yard made of scalpings.
I’ve used the sawmills mains Makita ,although small has a powerful blow,but not suitable for wandering outside unless your a dwarf!

You'd be very wrong to assume that,

They are Japanese, very well made piece of equipment we ran 3 hedge cutters, 3 strimmers and I have the dinky chainsaw cs2511 and had the cs360 all have been fantastic also a petrol leaf blower

But I have no knowledge of the battery kit

2511 next to an import ms200 ( both are brilliant)



My cs360 which sadly the carb one way valve gave up after 4years, as the saws where still pretty new the carb replacement were hard to get and half the cost of a new saw



I've also had the t540 husky awful saw.

I tend to agree that petrol blows the pants off electric... provided you can get it to start!!! I've had petrol mowers and blowers for decades but they are all giving problems now, which I suspect is the petrol formulation issue. That's not going to go away and I have grave doubts about buying petrol kit (most especially 2-strokes) now.

I love my Li battery hedge-trimmer; not the most powerful, but the speed at which Li charges is just so good.

I used to use a petrol backpack for clearing pine needles off tees and greens - man, those things can stick!
Much better and faster than wielding a fibreglass 'switch'.
