im in the process of setting up may air compressor but i have a problem i have a sealey not the heavy duty one air filter regulator and oiler but the thing you screw to adjust the pressure is leaking i screwed it off and there is a piston that moves up and down with a seal on it i took it out and fiddle with it and it seamed to help but is still leaking but not as bad as it was any one else had a problem with this.

I'm in the process of setting up my air compressor, but I have a problem. I have a Sealey, not the heavy duty one, air filter, regulator and oiler but the thing you screw to adjust the pressure is leaking. I screwed it off and there is a piston that moves up and down with a seal on it, I took it out and fiddled with it and it seemed to help but it is still leaking, but not as bad as it was. Anyone else had a problem with this?

Have you asked Sealey if they do service kits? Either email them

i might do that but this is the second one i got as the first done it as well and so i got this one. must be a design fault.

Are you connecting it the right way round? If the air pressure on the outlet is greater than the set pressure air bleeds out of a small hole, usually near the adjusting knob.

I had the same issue with cheap regulator/filter/trap units. Most Chinese regs I have had did this.

I replaced it with a Norgren and no more problems.

the air is flowing the way the arrows are pointing. one thing i did notice is that the piston has a light coating of oil applied to help it move do you thing this would stop the o ring opening against the face of the the cylinder when the air is pressure is applied because the oil is holding it against the piston.
