lechler uhs thinners

ive been spraying some parts with lechler ultra high solids topcoat and was using epoxy thinner and it has was working fine but im not sure its the correct thinner

No, epoxy thinner is different. It might affect the adhesion or gloss.

Nope not 2K you need 00516 epoxy thinner, it used to have Epodur on the tin but don't seem to have it anymore

well i went in to town and the guy gave me lechler 00740 apeedy thinners, i hope thats just a faster version?

I took it as he was asking for Epoxy thinner, the 2K thinner is just normal 2K, Lechlar 00740 will do

i got my painter to prime the inside of my car boot after it was blasted and he primed it with 2 k epoxy, now he got over-spray as he called it but to me it just looks like he sprayed it with a blocked gun, what I want to know is will high build primer sprayed over this after its been keyed help to flatten the surface a bit smoother or does it all have to be sanded, the reason im dragging my heels on the sanding is its all in very hard to reach places and to be honest has a false floor on it anyway, i just hate the thought of it

Your painter should have sprayed the highbuild primer straight over the epoxy while it was still tacky, to save you having to sand it again before highbuild.

It's in the boot, when the lid's shut nobody will see it. Job done.

well what I did was flat it off best i could, with 120 grit maybe finer i just used what i had to hand then red scotchbrite, hoovered the lot out and wiped down with panel wipe,put a fan heater under the car for an hour then sprayed 2k high build,waited about an hour then painted 3 coats of macrofan 2k toyota 040white

look pictures dont show anything as regards paint but im very happy with the job, its smooth, and well covered,and before anyone asks yes i see the run, it actually happened before while i was hand painting some welds an never noticed it at all!
