LED Flood Lamp - 12V

Made this to use up some scrap pieces of LED light strip.
Thought it might be useful to anyone wanting a vehicle/camping light - or for backfill for photos?

runs off a 12v DC transformer at the moment.

Raw materials : foam board (from The Range, about 4 quid for a big sheet, this is just offcuts)
Scrap ends of LED light strip from the Bay.

The cut ends of the light strip


are trimmed back with a stanley knife blade - cut across the rubber outer, then cut in from the end.
The rubber outer is not firmly attached to the white plastic ribbon, so peels away quite easily



Contacts are tinned

Then some speaker wire (from screwfix) is soldered on

cable is fed through punched holes, and hot glued in place




Light strip is glued down - this would be better with superglue, but I didn't have any,
so bodged with more hot glue.

Glued with hot glue

and a hole punched to feed the cable through


and then the lamp assembly is inserted to cover the rat's nest of wiring

Just need a piece of translucent perspex to attach to the front as a diffuser (and cover up the hot glue!)
