Lucky there were no nibblers I guess. Bought two of these. One for me and one for laddo as I never know what to get him for Christmas:

Dunno, charging now. 1 hour charge & then 1 hour run time. Would have done me a treat recently working on the gate wiring. Will let you know shortly what it's like.

I'll be heading to Lidl tomorrow! Have had an Iroda gas iron for years and several mains ones, but new toys at low prices are always welcome!

Tha gas one is becoming harder to light and the gas doesn't last long either so for the odd bit of soldering as long as it actually heats up enough to melt it, that's a bargain.

If it doesn't heat up enough it gets returned to them!

Yep, pleased with that. Hold the on button for 4 seconds, LED light comes on and it heats up and melts solder like a grown up soldering iron! Lounge smells of solder now...

The lead free solder that comes with it isn't worth using

Been using in anger tonight to tin stripped, stranded wires. Been using outside in the damp. Can't fault it. Proper leaded solder of course!

My wired Lidl soldering iron packed in after 2 uses. They did refund but because it was just over a year old I had to apply by email to Germany and it took a couple of weeks. Had other Lidl tools which have lasted so was a bit disappointed.
