A while back I made myself a hand powered ring making machine with a view to making large sculptures out of steel rings. The machine worked a treat, see link. http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=35216
I was left with about three hundred rings and not sure what to do with them. I fancied making sculptures based on the photographs taken by Japanese Photographer Moriyama of big women wearing fishnets. Art not porn photography, (mods? is this image ok?)
Amazing pictures I reckon on scaling them up to say 1.6m on a side. Then realised that I would need hundreds and hundreds of them. More to follow methinks.
So Wifey suggested using the old mannequin outside my workshop as a mould. Interfering old bag. So I had a go.
Bloody interfering women. Fantastic idea. I tried it on and it is a perfect fit, no photo's of that but I may have to explore 'specialist markets' I think I may have stumbled across a new field to explore.
I got the body finished yesterday with a back as well.
Well pleased with the result, next I have to get him mounted probably on a large log I have lying around the place.
Looks like a new avenue to explore, I have just ordered a female torso from Ebay to see what I can come up with.
Then maybe I start working from life models. I reckon there could be a great film in this. it probably stings a bit as I spot weld the outer together but a good fit would be guaranteed.
