Lincon speedtec 200c multi process welder .... Any good ??

Hello everyone iv started college doing level two fab/welding mig tig iv never used a welder before I'm liking it alot now here's were it get hard I want a welder of my own what do I look out ?what make is best? and I want a multi process welder can anyone give me some info were to buy one from? Also I would like one with a very high duty cycle Thanks for your time

Hello, I have this machine for a year now, and it's good at stickwelding, used it for all kinds of elektrodes and it does a good job,
For mig welding I don't like the synergetic setting of this machine, I can't get it to weld good with 0.8mm wire most of the times I use the manual settings,
and than it is a quite good mig welder.
I used to own a kemppi minarcmig, to me that is a far better machine for mig welding and synergetic settings.
The lincoln has no setting for mig brazing and the kemppi has.
Haven't used the speedtec for tig, because it's lift-tig, For tig I use an esab welder.

Cheers mate some decent advice there so what machine would you reckon to buy and the make I would like a decent mig tig stick in one of that's possible and good at doing all 3 ? Cheers

Difficult to say, I can only judge about the speedtec, but keep in mind most multi proces welder do only lift-tig and no hf,
so for some occasional tig welding it will be fine, else I would buy a seperate tig welder, cause they also stick weld, if a multi proces machine fails, you've got
nothing.

I've tried one at an exhibition when they were first bought out. Nice machine for mig and mma. Fairly compact, euro torch connection and the most important thing (for me any way) it's a brand you can trust . I say go for it and if you start to get into tig (which you will it's wonderfull) buy a separate hf unit.

good point about the add on HF unit-I keep forgetting about those.
