linking compressor to another larger tank

right i have a 25L compressor, i also have an empty tank thats about 40L that my brother got from work off a truck, from the air bag system i think he said

anyway i want to know how would be best to link the 2 tanks so in theory i have a 65L capacity?

Just connect them with a piece of pipe connected before the regulator on the 25L tank.

Make sure the new tank will take the pressure.

Probably from the air brake system, I built a compressor using one before DIY compressors became readily available.

Both tanks should have tappings on the domed end pieces, probably plugged on your existing compressor. They will most likely be BSP fittings but depending on what truck the air tank came from may be metric. Simply connect the two ends together with suitable pipe and whatever fittings adaptors are required.

I would connect an inline valve between the tanks so you can shut off the extra tank when you don't need the extra capacity. That'll save your compressor from running excessively. Also make sure you can get at the drain valve for the second tank, lot of newer trucks come with auto drain valve, which works as long as you drop the pressure in the tanks.

i need the full capacity all the time tbh

dont forget if the pump isnt big enough to cope with whatever you are running you will get a little more time with more storage but equally you will have to wait longer to reach full pressure aswell

its fine once tanks full so abit more capacity is all i need really
