My Dad has spent the last few months restoring a Lister D, an argosy water pump and some other things. The Lister has sat on a weak alu base ("unwanted" where he works) with casters in all four corners, but set back from the edge, making it very unstable. A few weeks ago he got the flat bar (50x6mm) and I made up the handles. The he got some lovely cast iron wheels so I made up an axle bracket type thing with flat bar and some half inch threaded pipe. Today we assembled the cart so here it is:
It rolls around easily with me standing on it but I'm not a 300 pound cast iron engine. If you think it looks a bit long, your right, it's made to hold the Lister and the argosy pump as well. I'm spending the week over there in a couple of days and we're going to get the flywheel off, get the water jacket off ( and fix the leaking gasket) and get any other heavy parts off and then rebuild it on the trolley. I'll post more pictures then.
If anyone wants to know anything about the trolley (dimensions ect) or even anything about restoring the engine, please feel free to ask. It's easier that than me say everything I can because I could babble on for hours.
