Loader brackets, right steel etc...

Hi guys, wanting to ask some metals advice, but pictures speak a thousand words, so heres one:

Now what I want to make is the red bit there that hooks under the bucket.

The loader its on is a 2tonne loader, and want to make an adaptor plate so that its implements can be used on a 2.6tonne telescopic with different brackets. These brackets are used on bigger loaders right up to 3tonne.

Got a price for the round bar, EN8 40mm 2x 1500mm and locking pin EN8 20mm 2x 1500mm long. £69+VAT, would EN8 be the right steel? And also, the plate in the photo is 10mm, I have some 10mm ex road plate, would this do the job? (don't know the grade) or would I need EN8 plate? And last of all, take it 6013's would not do the job?

Need to get cracking with this really, should have done it a month ago...

id use heavy mild steel but thats just me i dont want to be passing dangerous advice on. get big chunk of a thick plate, drill the correct diameter hole with mag drill for hook and cut away rest. unless you have a mill?

EN8 will be fine for the rounds. Any plate will do, as long as it's man enough for the job. That'll be a Quicke in Fergy colours?

my advice when making a adapter is to clamp the steel to the bucket when you are welding it rather than try and measure and replicate as its quicker and it is garaunteed to fit

ha ha aye, a red quicke. To be fair I doubt its anything fancy on the real thing, just not going to take any chances. Should only be light use anyway (bale handlers), getting a real 7' dung grab and bucket for the handler, as if they're prices wouldn't frighten you enough, the one company willing to make one of these wanted £1250!
Will £69 be about right for that stuff? Just looked at the welding guide, 7018's it is!
To be honest the euro bracket is pretty simple, worst bit will be getting the 6 plates with holes lined up for the locking pin... will probably tack them all together and get the blacksmith to core them, then cut the bits out to be perfect... if you know what I mean...
