New to the forum and first post, I have been looking for a manual for the Lorch Handy Tig 200 AC/DC as I am wondering if it will run a 6010 rod. I have an EWM pico cel which has proved to be a super bit of kit and as I periodically find myself doing ag repair work the ability to run a 6010 on poor fit up and inaccessible situations that you often find with ag repair very useful. I have the opportunity to do ally work (up to 3-4mm) which is new to me and i prefer to buy once and buy right when investing in new kit. If the Lorch will run a 6010 it would nicely kill two birds with one stone.

No they can’t. They’re TIG machines and I don’t believe they have the OCV to run a 6010. Why do you need to run a 6010? There’s 6013s that can fill a gap.
you’d be looking at a MicorTig200 which might have a cel mode I can’t remember off the top of my head. But it’s not AC.

Many thanks Brad, Ive found 6010 handy occasionally certainly not a rod I run all the time so its not a deal breaker. I was just considering sellingthe pico cel if it could. Truth to tell its too useful a machine to want to see it go

If you go on the Lorch website. And find the machine you’re looking at then download the short info, that will give you all the specs.
The HandyTig is a great TIG machine, and does run low hydrogens and rutile rods very well.
I just don’t think you’ll find the punch there to run a 6010. You might get away with a Nu5.
You know you’re talking about most machines that run 6010s having 80 or 90v OCV.
bearing in mind most TIG welding is done at around 10-20v, I guess the structure of the machine/electronics is different.
This is where the MicorTig excels because you have the micor technology with huge voltage reserves so it will have that power to run a 6010.
But there isn’t an AC/DC MicorTig yet.

I know it’s an old post but maybe someone will read it later like me. I have an HandyTig 180DC and has no problem running 2.5 mm 6010. I didn’t try a thicker 6010 like 3.25 because I can buy only 4.5 kg minimum and I chose the smaller ones
