Anyone used this mig ??

Im going to buy a mig in spring time and so far I have my eyes on this one..
Only welded a little bit with a kemppi kempomat 180 and that worked wery well for me. Welding on car's all the time so I never even changed any settings on it :P worked for me the way it was set.

How does the automated lorch system work, from what I understand you can just set the amperage and it will adjust everything else to a useable setting, does this function work any good, or do you always have to finetune ?

although its 230V and 415V its probity 415V single using 2 phases

I believe they come supplied with a fly lead so you can plug into either supply.

This is also on the very top of my list for the school workshop if I get the go ahead from a grant application, I'm due a decision this week or next.

From what I understand, the M-Pro range can be run in synergic mode, where you dial in the material thickness and the machine does the rest, or in manual mode where you set up the power and wire feed just as any other MIG. My intention is for the kids to set up the machine in manual mode and then switch over to Synergic to see how far out/close they were, it should help them with understanding what a decent machine setup should work like.

If there are any users out there I'd love to hear what it's like.

I can see it say's 230v 1phase and 415v 3phase, But I only have 230v 1phase and 230v 3Phase in my garage. I've heard a lot of people say that 3phase machines weld smoother than 1phase, so was hoping it could run on 230v 3phase and not just 415v, alot of phases in the text :P

I would also like to hear what matt has to say about this, how good is the automated settings an so on. I think price wise it looks like a decent machine, I have been quoted a good price from Weldequip so He will be my man, maybe he could put out some words on it.


Also by looking on matts gallery you can see some welds made by this machine, But aiming for welds like that would only **** me off so F... that

Hi Guys, yes I was away at an exhibition and on top of that I was without my laptop until Tuesday this week.

I'll email a user guide over tomorrow, I am trying to send the general catalogue over, which contains the whole product range and has 3 or so pages dedicated to the m-pro range, but its 8mb and not sure your email server will accept it.

Will it work on 230v 3phase or only 230v 1phase matt. Probably says so in the manual, but jus askin since it says 400v 3phase or 230v 1phase on the web. It will work either way since I have both 1phase and 3 phase 230v in my garage, but some say welders work smoother on 3phase than 1phase, not that it matters because im a crappy welder. :P

Yes machine, can be used on both 3-ph and 1-ph. There is a selector switch on the back so you can choose 230v or 400v.
