Hi,

Just saw these advertised on eBay, although really great machines of there time they are not Inverter based as is described by the seller (just incase anyone on here was bidding) they are Transformers, but the Transformers are controlled electronically which is what enables the remote switching of the voltage/job store/smart torch facility etc

I did spot them (only because they aren't too far away from me) and wondered about the inverter based bit in the description - they didn't look like inverters too me so guessed there was a mistake or there was something fishy with the listing either way as I wasn't looking to buy them I thought no more about it till you posted this.

We have two inverter range of machines (Pulsed and non-Pulsed), the S and P series and they are in the exact same housing at the C shown in the picture, so it's not something you can really tell from just from looking at a side profile.

The give away is the fact it says it has 41 power stages which are in effect voltage Steps. With in a inverter this would be infinitely variable

Ah ok so I was right but for the wrong reasons, I didn't get as far as looking at models. Having just re-looked at the listing and am surprised that the seller would have made a mistake like that as they've bought / sold / repaired welding gear for years.

Still for someone looking to spend that much on a machine they surely will have done their research first and know exactly what they are buying.
