Lorch T220 Reset ?

Is there factory reset/default button on a Lorch T220 ?
Have only just got this machine (used) and first time I've every tried to weld
Only ask as I've cocked up the various settings from seemingly working to a damp fizzle
I now can't remember what parameter was set at what
Yes I should have just left it be but I had to fiddle
Is there a basic setting or everything set as zero when new ?

I have a T220 basic plus.


Looking at the pic below ..... For the master reset......the manual says press and hold down the button circled in red.
At the same time briefly press the button circled in blue, all leds and 7 segment display will light up briefly.

This should reset all parameters to the factory settings.


I've never done it on mine so no idea if it works or blows up.

My machine is slightly diffo to that shown but will deffo give that a go

Hello Chaps, My manual for the T220 control pro says hold down the red button and briefly press the save button for a soft reset,But for a master factory reset hold red button down,then hold down save button, Lights will light briefly. keep holding the save button for 5seconds and the lights will light again,

I think this should work ..

Machine and very 1st attempt in the rain and wind today
Just need to work out what i'm doing next lol

It well help a lot sitting g when learning I found.

yes sitting is easier for me too, which is good cos it gave me a reason to make a stool, if you can call it that. 3 box section legs with some plate on top tacked then forgotten about lol

I ended up kneeling down most of the time but still found it awkward even then
Maybe when its not blowing a storm I will get a better result

As it is the dogs SS water bowl ended up with a few holes blown in it

It is probably ferritic stainless steel. AFAIK things like animal bowls are often 430 ba. We've done tooling for a company that makes speciality ones for people.

Way over my head

'Stainless' covers a huuuuuge range of corrosion resistant alloys which are split into different families based on their properties. The bloke down the pub will consider stainless to be 'non-magnetic' which is kinda true for one family known as 'austenic' that refers to a non-magnetic phase/microstructure. While austenitics are the most common flavours of stainless they're the only non-magentic one and while they have a good balance of properties with excellent weldability there are various other types which are better in some areas/worse in others so very generally...

Ferritic are strongly magnetic and aren't as corrosion resistant or good at elevated temps but have very good ductility/formability and are cheaper so get used for kitchen sinks, dog bowls and the like
Martensitic flavours are similar to ferritic but alloyed differently which results in martensite at room temp which is a 'kin hard microstructure and makes them useful for knives etc
Then we're into specialist stuff like 'duplex stainless' which combine the 'best' properties from both austenitic and ferritic flavours. There's also 'precipitation hardening' and maraging (martensitic aging) flavours which, very crudely, means they can be worked in a soft state and then hardened by baking them at relatively low temps for a few hours instead of messing about quenching and tempering as is done with carbon steels

Reset was via 2 buttons as suggested so had another crack at it again today
