Lotus Esprit bendix rear brake.

Job creep on this one. A simple service of the rear brakes turns into a job. Got the callipers off and on the bench to service them. No 1 both flexible hoses had collapsed order new. Inspect the callipers and found a bush missing how on earth this has disappeared I have no idea. Interesting job all the same never been inside one of these with H/brake operating the foot brake piston. So strip down turn up a bush and press in, ream all fine then to put it all back together there is a bellville spring which was to thought to compress by hand. is could not get the h/brake actuating rod back in. walk away and think about a solution I came up with mounting it in my miller to compress the spring it all worked well result all fitted back on the car and works fine happy bunny.

Looks very similar to a Chrysler 180 rear brake. Homologated on the rear of Sunbeam TI & Lotus rally cars.

Exactly the same idea as the calipers on the rear of various Lancias - I can't remember having any hassle refitting the lever - simply slides in when everything is in the right place.

I did think of drilling and cross-drilling the shaft for a zerk fitting to give it a shot of grease every now and again, keep it moving freely.
