Low temperature aluminium welding - anyone tried?

Hi.
I just came across low temperature aluminium welding tutorial movie on youtube

Has anyone tried this product? They have rods for aluminium and stainless steel welding. Working temperature is 380 celcius. Is it good? I have some aluminium frames to weld and I am lookieng for something low cost. They have in offer flux for soldering aluminiu but I don't know how strong it would be.

The melting of aluminium is 660 degC, so 380 degC isn't welding. It'll be soldering, Google "aluminium solder".

You're not suggesting a popular brand of tinned processed meat could be involved?

^^^^^^dont think it'll work on tin cans, just aluminium cans

I have used similar rods a few times with very good results, Also sometimes called aluminium brazing.

I got LumiWeld a million years ago to fix a footrest bracket, Worked a treat, not attractive though, mind you it was my first go.

I have used the Lumiweld rods mentioned elsewhere in this thread to repair a damaged aluminium oil filler horn on my 1934 car. The casting was some cheapish aluminium alloy & failed to respond to proper Tig welding. However the Lumiweld did an excellent job, the repair was strong & the only downside (also mentioned elsewhere) is the cosmetic appearance of the finished joint. However this easily rectified with some judicious filing albeit the joining metal is considerably harder than the parent aluminium alloy.
