Lucas wiper motor

The tractor has a what I believe to be a Lucas wiper motor (well everything else is Lucas, I know this because I have to keep fixing it)

Dose anyone know if it’s possible to adjust the park position?

I want to move the park position to the other side of the screen so the wiper lives behind the exhaust. Visibility is quite restricted as is looking between the loader arms, exhaust and wiper isn’t ideal.

You will need to see where the adapter arm off the motor is too,

There will be arm from the spindle to the linkage that will be able to be flipped 180 degrees. This will make the start where the finish point is now.

So not as simple as an adjusting screw then?

I’ll have to see if i can get it off without it disintegrating.

Doesn't look very lucasish to me Mr Plug. You could always cut out the auto park and stop it on the switch manually.

Many it isn’t Lucas, I would rather leave it than remove the auto park, been there before and when trying to do several things at once while stopping the wiper in the correct place isn’t pleasant.

Does it drive the wiper arm through a cable or s system of cranks?

If it's a cable you may be able to feed it into the wheelbox on the opposite side to the current side, you may need to adjust the position of the wiper arm on the spindle. I had to do this on my Land Rover when I moved the wiper motor from the LHS to the RHS.

If it's a direct drive from the motor, can you rotate the whole motor?

It’s just a single wiper, direct drive from the motor, I did think about turning the whole unit 180 degrees but that wouldn’t change anything, would it?

If the parking switch is within the motor itself it will still park in the same place relative to the motor, but 180 degrees to where it parked before.

EDIT having said that, the arm will still rotate in the same direction, so you could end up wiping fresh air or the bonnet instead of the screen! It depends where the wiper motor is fixed relative to the screen. Unless you can fiddle the wiring inside the motor to reverse it?
