LVLP gun question.

Hi guys.
I have a 14.5CFM comp with a 50ltr tank which I thought would easily cope with a LVLP spray gun ?

I have a 1.8mm primer gun. But the compressor is struggling to keep up. Any ideas ? I am running the gun at 30psi at the gun.

Do I need a larger tank ? Or less PSI perhaps ?

I have a second 24ltr comp, so I could plumb that tank in parallel I guess ?

What kind of area are you painting ? I have a 3hp Sip direct drive compressor and HVLP gun and it will recharge the tank while I am spraying using around 30psi. Adding another tank is not going to make any difference it will just take longer to recharge as well as empty.

Hi Pedro. I'm painting car panels. When I say won't keep up, what I mean is it is running often. But it will recharge whilst spraying. My concern is that the compressor is going to overheat, I'm a bit of a novice spraying, maybe it's normal ? But I had read that you could run a LVLP gun off a really small compressor ?

I have another Clarke silent 4.5 CFM one that I was hoping to use as it got late in the evening (I am at home) !! But it doesn't look like I'll be able to.

I guess my question boils down to PSI. I think I'll do a bit of experimenting and playing around to see if I can find a happy medium.
