M2060 mig

Just bought a used one of these and downloaded the manual; is this just a garden variety MIG or does it have whizzy synergic bells and whistles? The manual is a bit vague.

I'm going to pick it up tomorrow or Wed so will post some pics then. NEW TOY!

It is semi synergetic, - it adjusts wire speed automatically to power settings.

You won't be dissapointed by it, Mine is fantastic.

As Lotus says, the wire-speed moves with the Voltage.

If you PM me your email address when you have purchased it, I can send you a manual if you need it. But to be honest, its very straight forward.

Will it be any different to the PDF? If I gave you the serial number would you be able to tell how old it is? I've got it home now and underneath the grime it looks pretty new. How much for a wire feed roller for aluminium? It's the 2 roller feed mechanism. Given how shiny it I'm almost disappointed it doesn't have the original torch, but I guess a Binzel MB25 is a reasonable substitute. There was even a bag with 2 dozen contact tips under the lid!

edit: actually it's the standard feed roller I need, the roller on it is an Al roller.

Chunky bits inside; a bit of a step up from my Cebora! Matt, what is the grey button beside the wirefeed for? The pdf I downloaded doesn't mention it. The Lorch website says the roller I need is part number 620.8700.0

Grey button is for wire inching.

Yes I can tell you how old it is. The user guide I would send you would be in .pdf form.

If you email any of the Lorch distributors, they will be able to give you price and availabilty for a Alu roller.

Edit, Looks like the Spool Nut is missing?? Unless you took it off when you took the photos?

I have the nut, I moved it out along with the other bits and bobs to clean the wirefeed area as it was thick with filthy black dust. I'll PM with the serial number.

I'm well pleased with it and I haven't even laid a bead yet!

I've just had chance to get one of these? Any feedback on how your getting on with it? Also if you dont mind could i ask how much you paid for it? Just wondering if the one i've seen is correctly priced as i cant seem to find manu s/h on the net

I've had mine for 12 months, nothing will touch it quality wise, it will walk all over the raved about portamig and other machines, dead easy to use, once it's set up for your personal preference then just a case of selecting the power output you require and it adjusts wire speed automatically. I went from a good quality supermig 180 to mine and the difference was apparent the first time I pulled the trigger. Mine still looks immaculate - the chassis and casework are all galvanised then powder coated. They were around the £8 - 900 new.

Brilliant, i got offered it for £600 so i was in two minds between that or a new portamig as they are similiar price, any way i went for the lorch and can say i am very pleased with it. Not sure if the price was right or not but if they were that price you said new then i'm happy with what i paid, its in immaculate condition and could tell that the guy had looked after it.

Glad you like it. What's the serial number, ill able to give you an idea of age.
