M300: Large Bore Fixed Steady

Just about finished, this project, just need the ends tapping for M5 so I can fit replaceable brass ends.


Throat size is a whopping 155mm.

Currently doesn't need to open as it's only going to be used for short pieces.

Nice job might be a future project for me, I'm currently gathering steel to make a drilling attachment for the saddle so I can drill with the power feed.

I cant find any plate on ebay it looks like asking around. Having said that it is not an imminent project so I have time to look around. lol

It was an off cut, just so happened to be the right size, must of had it 3 yrs before I bought the M300.

i need a steady for the r and a which will probably be home made, but i don't need anything as substantial as that, 60mm is max i will be turning on it. Looks like a nice solid steady though
