With the added bonus of being a protection cage against knocks and items falling....can't be bad
I've got a used Kemppi remote like that you can have for £50 if you want?
Nice cage by the way, you ought to send a pic of it to Kemppi, they might give you something for the idea.
I would buy jims, return the one to rapid, and spend the money on another item from rapids shop.I hate you!
(teehee)
just ordered remote from Rapid at £147
then read you have one at £50 plus postage.
Sods law....

Bet that's good for small diameter pipes where you will be changing weld position on the fly. Knock up the current slightly as you get closer to the top.The bonus is... I had a length of 20x5mm stainless and a short length of pipe for the handle. Plus I found the rubber feet as well. So I did not have to buy anything.
The thought process was:
1. Light construction
2. High enough to hang a welding helmet on
3. Cable tidy must double as a rack to lay a few welding electrodes on, off a wet floor.
4. Rack must be narrow enough to lay welding electrodes on it, staggered so I can pick rods up with gloves on one at a time!
If you look at the bottom of it, I have double rubber mounted the welder, and sort of put the feet on "leafs". Sort of a anti-vibration base for a trip in the van.
I am so - so tempted... To purchase the 5m remote for this welder
It is £150, not sure if I can justify it!
I weld allot of stainless exhaust pipes in situ.
Anybody else change the amps a bit with a remote while MMA welding pipes or tubing?

Don't run it off undersized cables or generators. That's the best advice I can give to anyone who wants an inverter to last.
