Making a rotisserie ...

As my search for a rotisserie has unearthed zilch - except for the £700-£800 ones, how BIG a project is it to make one really?

Can't see as it would be *that* difficult, as long as the thing was welded correctly ... although a bit of a novice, I'm confident I could do it given the time.

I've seen plans you can buy on the 'net so no problems there.

Would my Clarke 160 be up to welding the thickness of steel required though and what thickness should I use?

Would 3mm be okay?

Any help appreciated.

There are many set of plans and examples out there on the net. Some of them are more complex than others. Some incorporate a chassis jig.
Those that enable you to adjust the height of the car relative to the pivot alow you to align the pivot with the centre of gravity. This makes turning the shell less exciting!
