Making mistakes with Greg.

Been watching Greg for a good while, agree he has some really good videos and it's more realistic real world welding without all the snobbery of OMG your welds will fail x-ray, and your hanging a plant pot on the wall.

I was contemplating this type of video. As opposed to being the one actually giving the tuition or info I would be the one to do it wrong and get viewers to suggest better ways etc.

I had a trainer at a previous job that worked on this principle...he would screw it up intentionally or do it the hardest way he could think of then ask 'can you think of any way to make that easier or better?' And it was far more beneficial that just being told this is how we do it

Its rather like me using fusion for example.
Several people have been so kind as to either tell me how to do it in here. Send me a video with how it's done or indeed do it for me.
My issue is that I don't want to appear ungrateful for ANY help I get but I often can't follow text instructions.
I can't always follow videos . Both for the same reason. I can't always see the mouse clicks or know what to do when told in text etc.
Doing it for me is often brilliant and means I can get on with what I needed the part for but it also means I am putting on people and don't learn how to do it myself or do minor tweaks on sizes etc.

My problem is I find it easier to resize uniformally (which preserves the thread fit) in Bambu Studio.

But it's easier to cut a slice out of the model in Fusion.

Now here comes the rub.......once I have uniformally resized to get the width . Bambu studio won't save back as a step file. Which causes me a problem as Fusion is not keen on letting you work with the file if it's not a step file of Fusion file.

ah, i know nothing of bambu.

i only use fusion at the moment for designing small parts and creating drawings. currently designing some jaws for a wood lathe 4 jaw for my father (i was daft enough to buy him a lathe for xmas) as he bought a chuck, but the jaws are a bit too small for what he needs. so the combination of him finding out ive bought a tig, plus i have fusion means i must be able to make a set of jaws
