I'm looking for a respirator / mask that will be suitable for MIG welding, metal grinding and cutting and sanding paint rust etc.
I've tried the general disposable sort for grinding etc but my glasses keep misting up![very happy :D :D](/forum/data/assets/smilies/19.gif)
Sooo.. I thought I'd get one the 3M or similar fitted variety.
As far as I can see I've got 2 choices one where the mask is reusable and I could use different filters depending whether I'm metal working or painting, or buy the disposable fitted type.
Some of you are doing this stuff day in day out, can you advise on make, filter type and supplier as I don't want to go overboard on price.![whistle  ](/forum/styles/smilies/whistle.gif)
Having said that though I don't want to stint on safety now despite having a used the throw away paper ones for starters![ashamed :ashamed: :ashamed:](/forum/styles/smilies/ashamed.gif)
Oh yes and another thing, is it right that the filters only last for 30 days once used?
