I am making some alloy loading ramps 4 Metres in length and the area the tyre that will go on will be 450mm.
I am not sure what thickness to use of alloy to use I narrowed it down to the follwing,
channel 4x2 6082t6 6mm thick. For the centre section where the car will drive on I want to use 6mm square tube as well but the supplier local to me only has 3mm thick 1x1" tube 6082t6 with a 120mm gap in between, will it be strong enough? opinions?
The cars loading will be a max weight of 2.5tonne just to be safe.
end product will resemble something like these ramps
