Material support for bandsaw

One of my work neighbours has just bought a small bandsaw to be used for cutting plastic bars,
A material support was needed so I knocked this up, a few offcuts of 1.5" square erw tigged together, and a quick squirt of paint and some plastic endplugs finishes it off.

Been there.
My chop saw 2 thicknesses of 2x4 got me to deck height so used to nail 1 bit on top of two lowers as supports.

Backs not what it used to be so use a saw stand these days.
No good for very long lengths but picked a couple of these up for when I'm chopping joists etc.
They have been bomb proof and will get a few more and retire my trestles to the shed now.
Can grip a sacrificial timber between the runners too.

Il probably make some fixed like Paul's for the workshop when time allows but these are great for portability.

They wont work on their knees though, difficult enough to get them working standing up!

I made something similar using the bottom of an old adjustable factory chair to use with my chop saw and Workmate.

I've got the engineer series and saw from Axminster. Far better than anything else for the money that I've seen. Only thing is they could have loctited the bolts as some have come loose but it's a quick job to fix.

It’s a neat job Paul.
looks factory with that coat of paint. I’ve made them before usually bodged out of an old axle stand, never into an actual sellable product. I’ve always gone done the roller route but either or does the job.
Stupid question here. Why is the blue seat removable? Is it plastic or rubber or something like that

The blue seat is plastic isn't it? Just to prevent scratching the plastic bars it's supporting presumably.

Its a bit of polyethylene strip screwed on. Just to prevent scratching the plastic stock they are cutting. Probably overkill but I like to give my customers something for their money, they have padded the saw vice as well.
Threads are for a bit of adjustment to compensate for the dodgy floors in our units.
