Maths behind linking compressors

Eventually when i get to the end of my project car it will need painting but my compressor isnt up to the job.

If I was to run another feed direct into my wall mounted filter how would that affect the cfm ability of the setup?

If I had 2 compressors both with a claimed 10cfm ability would i now have 20cfm or doesnt it work like that?

Connect the tanks together, don't connect a compressor to the output of a regulator, if you end up with a higher pressure on the output than the input of a reg it dumps excess air to atmosphere.

Is that displacement of FAD (Free Air Delivery)? Makers often quote the disp as it's bigger/looks better. Real output is what you want to know. Like my main one's 14.5 displacement or something, but 9.5 output/FAD.

Free air is usually about 2/3 of CFM. You won't up your CFM by linking two cheap compressors, just double the holding capacity if they both have the same size tanks.

I'm with you eil,2 compressors surely increase cfm? 1 compressor with 2 tanks increase holding capacity,.......i have 2 small compressor's my intention is to pipe both to another reciever or 2 ,47kg propane cylinders are favourite,and select air tools /sprayguns to suit ie low consumption tools......rtbcomp will know the answer Gav

I reckon if the compressors are both sucking air in then they're blowing it out so you'll add the outputs together.

I suppose you could argue that we should really be considering mass rather than volume, but I'm too tired at the moment!
