Mechanical auto drain valve

Just had to replace my broomwade filter/regulator after the diaphragm gave up the ghost. Replaced it with a Clarke one which seems to do all the broowwade unit did. One nice feature of the new Clarke unit is an auto drain valve which is open until the system pressure rises, it reopens once the system pressure falls to zero to dump any condensate build up.
Does anybody know of a similar valve in 1/2” bsp (to fit female socket) for the receiver tank. found loads of electrically operated valves but no mechanical ones.

I've recently fitted an electric one on mine with a pipe running out side. I think it cost less than £20. The beauty is it vents at full pressure so the moisture get driven out.

just decided to empty mine on the twin motor pump compressor after 6 month got a pint of water out . wouldn't have bothered if id know that's all

my 14cfm home made compressor gets emptied about once a year . it chucks a bit of oil in to the tank and turns white with the water probably get half a pint out of it

The air in Yarm must be drier than in Stockton, seem to get loads more water out of my receiver.

An ebay search for "had20b" will bring up a cheapie which looks similar to some I used 30 years ago (possibly Spirax Sarco?) without problems.

A google search for "compressed air float trap" will bring up plenty of hits too. Some top-entry, some side-entry, though I don't think I've seen one with a male thread.

The opens-on-loss-of-pressure filter/regulator drain is usually referred to as a "semiautomatic drain". "Automatic" drains are usually float-operated.

Thanks for that, it’s often knowing exactly what the gear is called thats half the battle.

That looks a neat solution for what I’m trying to do & the price is reasonable.
