Med-air compressor

Has anyone heard of Med-air compressors ?I have just got one but can't find out where i might be able to get spares and an operation booklet from

All it says on the unit is Med-air on a blue label, then on a plate it just says
no 219183

All of which i understand but no model number and i can't find anything about this brand of compressor on the net

Sometimes those were sold as a dental or medical compressors.

Google "Med air" "air compressor"

It's basically a fridge motor, keep the oil level up (special synthetic oil recommended), keep it cool and don't exceed a 50% duty cycle over 30 mins (15 on, 15 off)

I tried google but without much success i'm afraid,i was really trying to get a handbook to try and sort out a problem with it and find out where i might be able to get spare parts from

What's the problem and what parts do you think you'll need? A lot of the bits will be standard items.

Not sure what i'll need yet but it runs but won't build up pressure

Does it build any air pressure at all? Can you feel air leaking from anywhere, especially from under the pressure switch?

Disconnect the flexible pipe from the pump and see if you can build pressure by putting your thumb over the end of the stub sticking out of the pump.

That looks very like a Jun-Air unit, have a look on the link below, I would say the 6-15 is like yours,

Difficult to tell from the picture, but is there a tap or a PCL-type connector on the output? If not it will let air out and you won't build up any pressure.

Tigler,yes i agree apart from the handle that does look the same unit

rtbcomp,there is no tap but yes it does have a female pcl-type connector,it is that bit that is leaking air slightly all the time it is running,will that stop the pressure from building in the tank ?

Could do, it depends how much it's leaking! They don't put much air at all. I'd be inclined to stop that leak first and see what happens.

Thanks,i'll do as you suggest and see how it goes,as a side shoot to this topic any idea of the cheapest place to buy synthetic oil please ?

Probably just a case of modified design on more recent models.

Machine Mart stock the oil for their "Sshhhhhhhhh" range of compressors, don't know how their prices compare though.

It's about 15-16 quid a bottle in machine mart,just wondered if anywhere else is cheaper

You'll struggle to get synthetic compressor oil cheaply in small quantities. I buy Morris but the smallest can is 5 ltrs.
