Meddings M4 Pillar Drill Pulley dimensions.

I've just bought a bit of a basket case of a Meddings M4 bench drill and it is missing the 5 step pulley from the gearbox input shaft. Meddings want £84 for this so I thought I'd have a go at turning one up on my lathe.

Would anybody be kind enough to measure the outside diameter of each of the 5 pulleys? The rest of the measurements I can work out from the motor pulley.

The motor and spindle pulleys will likely be exactly the same on dimensions. Just copy what you have on the motor.

I wondered about that so I checked my Progress drill and they're different. The sum of the diameters for each pair looks about the same so the motor sits roughly in the same position for each speed.

Another approach may be to decide what speeds you require and knowing the motor speed, calculate the motor pulley sizes. You only need to calculate one diameter, the others will follow on from my first point.

I've discovered the size of the largest pulley on the gearbox spindle is 165mm which is larger than the largest on the motor pulley. So with that information I forsee an evening of maths to work out the other sizes, I have the speed chart as well so hopefully I'll get there.
