Some time ago I posted seeking advice about dismantling the gearbox of this drill (https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/meddings-mf-4-3-removal-of-gearbox-cover.138926/) - it has since been taken apart, a stripped gear replaced and all bearings replaced.
It's now going back together but before I close it up I was hoping to get some advice on lubrication. On disassembly I cleaned all of the grease from the gearbox and I am now wondering how much to put in there - and where.
Meddings have kindly sent me some general information on lubrication, and for this machine it states it was packed with Shell Alvania grease when constructed which will last 5yrs life.
Apparently the equivalent to Alvania grease is now Shell Gadus S2 V220Ac 2 - I've obtained a 400g cartridge but am wondering how to pack the gearbox with this - i.e. how much to put in and where to put it.
If anyone could give some advice I'd be very grateful
