Mega Scorpion

You asked me to let my scorpion out, Ok then here she is.
I have been working on this for just over a year, I get bored and leave her to the bind weed for a while and then get her out again.
She is about 2.2m tall to the top of the sting and about 3.5m long. The claws and tail are bolted on with concealed mounts.



The tail and claws are joined together using hollow steel balls and small plates to give a look of articulation.
The next stage is some eyes and maybe something to make the back a bit more spiky.

I love it as usual Chunko. How have you done the leg, are they sheet thats been folded and crimped on the joints? The MK1 spider was sheetmetal, it frustrated me as i couldnt get the form I was after but that looks interesting.

I'm thinking the same as "arcathis" ......you could make an interesting lawnmower along those lines.

The legs are made of sheet with a piece of strip spot welded onto one side to get the line of the leg and then beaten to death to fold the sides over.

I have heard of a steam powered scorpion somewhere in the US, which sounds like a good idea.

i was thinking little hydrolic rams,,you could fit the claws on pivot bolts.
just watch out for dogs and kids,haha

how heavy is she?
