thought ide show you another use for an overhead roller for a chain hoist...Ring roller
basicly take it apart and machine the rollers flat then cut a slot either side on the plates to allow a sliding ajustment for the centre roller that i knocked up on the lathe...pin it to a centre shaft and make a turning handle. Weld a centre plate on top to accept a large bolt for winding down the centre roller to apply force and then weld a plate to the side so you can hold in a vice and bobs ya uncle
it works perfect and now i can crack on with a set of gates as i needed to form a radius for the top rail. MIght as well show you a rough hydrolic press i knocked up with a bit of scrap box i had...hydro unit is off a concreting power float and its used to change the pitch of the 4 blades kinda like a helicopter rota head...sorry for the pic quality buts its on my work phone but you kinda get the idea chaps
