never used those but anything has to be better than nothing
as for welding if you don't thing your ventilation is good enough don't do it

Used that type before for dusty conditions,they're quite good,as for welding fumes i cant say.

its a dust mask .ok for grinding wont be much use for fumes.

If you google above you should find a supplier near you.

I'm sure others make equivs of those. Not cheap either.
