Pretty sure these are metal halide rather than sodium, but the old light on one side of my workshed has failed.
The massive bulb is the failed one. The smaller one is one i rescued from the tip at work as they have changed over to LED. I hoped it would be a replacement but seeing the size difference now the big one is on the ground i realise that wont be the case.
Three questions though:
1. How do i work out the specs of the large one? Any markings are long gone
2. Can I test the unit it came out of with the smaller one or are the units matched to bulbs of a certain size - if the unit itself is failed I will replace with LED now. Its 7m up so I dont want to faff around up there more than i have to and a simple bulb change is quickest.
3. The reflector material is no longer reflective on the unit itself - how much difference will that make to outputs?
