I have been touching up the Mrs`s polo, her car that is, its a Windsor blue, code LN5Y,I have filled in a few chips and a bump in the front wing also a couple of chips and scratches on the bonnet, now the base and clear has come out OK on the front of the wing but the bonnet wasn't a success with the blown in bits being too light in colour as opposed to the original,so today I went back to the paint supplier and got myself another 250ml,flatted down the bonnet, didn't prime it, and off the car and on a bench gave it two full coats of the base and the colour has again come out a lot brighter than what it should be. I have sprayed it in the flat position as if it was on the car. any pearls of wisdom from you old hands on what I'm obviously doing wrong ?.
