Sorry first post and digging up very old ground.
SIP TopMig Turbo 170 ~ 97/99 ish with MIG 02 IPF PCB ( No CN5 and off board relay setup).
The wire supply control has gone, i still have variable resistance over the Pot so that is OK. I haven't tested anything else but will start on the TIP35C as this is the most likely candidate.
My question is (Limit of my knowledge) I understand that getting the motor supply voltage from another smoothed transformer will help get rid of the affect of power draw from the main transformer. But are there any wiring diagrams to do this on the '02' PCB board?
I have found plenty of links and wiring dia. for the '05' and boards with the CN5 but no definitive ones for '02' and i'm lost with the power supply through the off board relay.
More importantly I have used this for years with no issues and always found it a good hobby welder which seems at odds with most reports on here. Its just the recent loss of wire speed control .
