MIG and TIG auto dark helmets

I am looking to purchase a new auto dark helmet and i need to buy something decent.

at the moment i have this helmet

but when welding with mig i can barely see the puddle and welding path, i have adjusted all options on the helmet. I have a new Lorch tig on order and want to have a decent helmet to tackle some aluminium welding.

I would like to know what helmet would you guys recommend for welding with Mig and Tig starting with very low amps 5A>

The fact the you've coughed up to get a Lorch tells me you're looking for some decent gear,
for topend welding helmets two of the main leaders are either the Miller elite series or Speedglas 9000 series, theres good reviews on here both of the above and of course others,
i personally use the Miller for tig which i'm very pleased with but got on perfectly well for years with an esab eye-tech which i keep for mig and plasma.

I have an E680, very posh.

Everything is adjustable.
I confess to having that the grind facility was a bit pointless. But I use it all the time, great when you have to do a quick grind or chop off something in the wrong place, those little 6 second jobs.
Also very comfortable.

I particularly like the Diamanté detailing and whats the optrel part number for the furry chin/neck protector that you have added.

i use same mask as you, when you are welding do you seem to
get too much green effect its that bad you can hardly see where you are
welding because that what i get with mine, im also looking for another mask,
there were one i liked but forgot what it was called, only thing i know about it, it was a magnified one that was great to use specialy if your eyes arnt very good like mine....

Try adjusting the sensitivity control.

Had one of the older esab eye-tech masks for years and never had a problem with low amperage,
Go onto esab's website for a full spec on that mask as dealers often make mistakes in their advertising.

I went to a local BOC dealer and they had Speedglas and Boc helmets, Speedglas had lovely big screen but headgear was flimsy on the other hand Boc Expert model felt really comfortable, I think that is Optrel rebadged to Boc

I'm not that sure on the names but it's the one with 5-13 shade adjustment

Yeah thats what I have got, I've only had it a week or two so not really formed a opinion on it really. But I do prefer it to the old auto speedglass I used to have, certainly more comfortable.
