MIG brazing stainless patch on to body panel

So, last 2 years I experimented with MIG and TIG brazing, using it for many different things and this idea was in my head all the time. Stainless patch on mild steel body panel. Now tell me why it's not the thing, and why nobody does that ? I haven't found a single example of this type of thing.

I've seen user named @HughF has some experience with brazing. I couldn't contact him here (no PM's on this forum ?) I hope he will appear in the discussion.

Mild and stainless together will accelerate corrosion.

Why use a stainless patch on mild steel. Should have been clearer, my fault.

Stainless work hardens so the joint may also crack. It will also expand and contract at different rates to the mild causing potential distortion.

If you want a stainless steel car buy a Delorean.

As to your question different heat expansion/shrinkage rates between steel/stainless, stainless harder to shape/work, cost, material flexibility, structural strength to name but a few things........

only different shrinakge/expansion rate would discourage me... I have everything I need to work on shaping stainless. Structurally it's stronger (higher tensile strength) so you can use a thinner one. I think it's doable, depending on the panel shape, size and placement. But using brazing, I think its possible and can turn out nice if done properly.
