mig torch

ive got a welder torch has been taken apart was told leaking gas but you know how that goes needs a new torch dont want to spend much as i could put it on and its bin job so not spending much to start with

i can buy on of these for 15 quid but what one do i need i think the 14ak has 2 leads for the trigger mine only has one

any one know what the insides of the 15ak torch is like ?

Cant see a gas valve in the torch, you're gonna need the 14ak by the looks of it even if you dont need the gas valve, the 15 looks like a standard mb15 eurotorch, the power lead, gas line and wire liner is all one deal in those, one large hose carries it all (see attached, my parweld mb25 euro torch)

Doesnt matter if it has 2 switch leads just hook one to the main welding cable going to the torch, its using that as the other side of the switch, you can tell that looking at it as it is, alternatively you can buy a ak14 torch with the lead and replace the whole lot for £15ish off amazon rather than just the torch head, may be easier adapting it welder end than messing around with the torch end anyhow.

No this has a gas valve in here's a pic

I like the idea of the 14ak so will it do it does it have a gas valve in it playing in thr mechine to wite a few bits up seam to be easyer than trying to make cables etc fit in a new torch

The 14ak type will have a gas valve in it yes, very similar set up to the current torch

New torch installed and had daughter round with her otherhalf so he had a few goes at welding for thr first time I don't think he done that bad to be fair

A bit high could of done with a bit higher on the setting and run a bit faster but did not want him blowing through its a pain when you first start and frustrating if all you do is blow holes


I had a go and it runs very well for a bit battered unit it welds better than it looks
