MIG Welding forum gathering

Hello,


I have read several times on the forum( s ) I take part to that most of their members feel quite disappointed not to be able to meet one another ( especially when they live far away ).

Has the idea of a 'MIG Welding forum gathering' ever been mentioned?

Malcolm could make us such a day, where the members could make welding show, show the cars they've welded or ... sell their used welders

I'd be glad to take part to such an event, if of course my parents decide to insure the car to my name too ( young driver, so pretty expensive ).

Ha ha . I can just picture us pushing our welders along the street on the wheels and passers by saying " Oh look there must be a welding forum gathering nearby". Na ! Would be as interesting as Which Flask magazine.

I belong to a British Horror Film discussion forum. I've met up with people on there loads of times and stay over at one of their houses now and again in London to visit The Gothique Film Society where quite a few of the forum members go in the Winter months.

Other than that I belong to a few other forums, but have never met up with anyone.

The thing with this group here is we are quite a disparate bunch, with only the process of joining metals as our true common interest. What that metal is part of can be very varied.

Of course if ya have that touchy feely need to meet people kind of thing there's no reason ol Malc can't install a chatroom where all you can wear is your welding apron....bwaaaaahahahahahaaaaaaa :eek:

We could all descend on Malcolm's farm with beer, meat and welders and build a barbeque out of whatever he's got in that barn. How many burgers can you cook on a Renault 4, anyway?

You are all welcome to come down to the Slow Car Club event next summer. The format is BBQ , beer, and bonfire on Saturday, followed by drag racing at Santa Pod on Sunday. It's a car event where all are welcome (you don't actually need a slow car).

Next year we might make a weekend of it and integrate a Renault 4 treasure hunt on the Saturday afternoon too. Only 2 R4s ever turn up to these events, so numbers from here would be most welcome. Will probably invite the 2CV club too.
